Printing technique is one of the most crucial keys to success of most Print-on-demand (POD) e-commerce stores. On account of the advancement of digitization and technology, there are many different types of printing methods available and they’re continuing to evolve to be more suitable with different demands.

To maintain or even build the name for your e-commerce stores, understanding which printing techniques can provide high-quality printing is the foremost thing you need to do before anything else. At Gearment, with many years of experience in the printing and fulfillment industry, we apply 2 main printing techniques, Direct to garment , and sublimation printing, to produce the best products for our customers.

DTG – Direct to garment:

What is DTG?

Direct to garment or DTG is a printing method that sprays the ink directly onto the fabric used to print apparel products of Gearment. The ink then soaks into the fibers of the fabric. Once the print is completed, it must be cured by using a heat press or a conveyor dryer.

Why has Gearment used DTG for all apparel products?

1. Fast processing time:

The foremost advantage of DTG is that it takes less time for machine setup, which usually wastes a lot of time if using Screen Printing. Using DTG helps both fulfillment companies and sellers shorten the processing time to customers’ hands and enhance the competitiveness of POD sellers.

2. Unrivaled quality:

DTG printing is a better alternative to the Screen Printing technique since it allows us to enhance intricate and finicky designs, whereas the rival technique cannot. DTG helps us bring colorful & complex artwork with multi-color designs onto each piece of printing. Also, it works best with all garments and apparel from Gearment.

3. Detailed and vibrant printing:

Clothing is an extremely competitive industry. Choosing a reputation POD fulfillment center with high-quality techniques to bring the most picture-realistic printing is essential for all POD e-commerce stores. With our wide practical experience, Gearment is sure that DTG is able to produce the most detailed and vibrant printing on garments and that choosing DTG for apparel products is highly recommended.

Sublimation printing

What is sublimation printing?

Sublimation printing is a form of digital printing aiming to transfer a design from sublimation paper onto a piece of material or fabric by using heat (from 350 – 400 degrees) and pressure. Basically, sublimation printing is a process of changing the solid particles of the ink into a gaseous state immediately without passing through the liquid stage in between. It is an easy and cost-effective printing technique to add personalization to products.

Why has Gearment used sublimation printing for most products?

1. Exceptional print quality

Sublimation is one of the very few methods you can print full colored images onto hard surfaces, but it still produces high-quality results in vibrant, high-resolution images. In this technique, the sublimation ink will be injected inside the fabric where the desired print is required. So the print design will be precise, and there will be no extra spreading of colors.

2. Durable print design

The longevity of the design is a plus point. Because the ink chemically bonds with the material that ensures the design over the surface won’t crack, peel or fade and will stay there for many upcoming years.

As the printing technique is sturdy and qualified, it’s difficult to get rid of the design all over the sublimation printed products at Gearment such as ceramic mugs, stainless steel tumblers, or linen pillows by going through the washing machine or dishwasher.
